Kitchen Chemistry Course
Apologies for the long absence. I’ve had two major projects on the go. First I was finishing off the Kitchen Chemistry course for Futurelearn, and then I was in South Africa for two weeks for the National Science Festival, Scifest Africa.
Kitchen Chemistry on Futurelearn is almost ready to go now. Over the lay couple of days I have been putting done finishing touches to the content, and clearing up the typographical errors. The launch date is 14 April so there is still time to sign up, and encourage friends and family to do so too.
From 12-18 March I was heavily involved in Scifest Africa. I contributed a slime making workshop every day, four Kitchen Chemistry shows and three spots on the sunset shows. I was also able to introduce the Laser X laser show every day and chaired some fascinating scientific sessions. The highlight of which was definitely the story of finding the body of Richard III in a car park in Leicester. It was fascinating to hear how the pieces of the forensic jigsaw all fitted together. I’m looking forward to the chance to go back next year from 18-24 March when the theme will be linked to the International Year of Light.
I look forward to seeing you soon on the Kitchen Chemistry course, if you can’t sign up for this free course you can follow the hashtag #FLkitchenchem to see what is going on. Alternatively check in to the tagboard to see everything in one place.
