Umjikelezo We-Science 2025

Early May saw the Kitchen Chemist head to Durban to join up with a team of like-minded science communicators for another edition of Umjikelezo We Science. This time we headed to the north-east of KwaZulu Natal province, close to the border with Mozambique and were hosted for two days (and accommodated) by the Mandla Mthethwa School of Excellence.

On the way back we stopped at other schools in the province and I took the opportunity to go back to the Mtunzini Primary School, organised by my good friend Dr Derek Fish, to give them another Kitchen Chemistry science show before re-joining the Umjikelezo troop at Ikhandela Secondary School.

There was no rest on this trip. No sooner had we visited all the schools it was back to the STEC Science Centre to unload, and I was off to Singapore for the next leg of this trip.
